Concept

Title: Point-is symbolism of the ballet dancers point shoes as well as the point of the stalkers knife

My target audience: Mature audiences

The 6-15 genre conventions i will include in my film are:
  • atmosphere
  • foreshadowing
  • surprise
  • suspense
  • passion
  • stillness

Characters and names with detailed explanations about their purpose in the film and their background/relationship with other characters:

Our dancer (cast as Hannah) i decided to just name Hannah as it is easier
and the stalker has no name other than "stalker" The dancers role in the film is to be the vulnerable character which we needed in order for the stalker to take its dominant role as being terrifying to our audience. and from what our audience knows, there are no clues or previous relationship between these two characters which are revealed

Practicalities of filming/content
Examples:

  • How realistic is your idea?:

Unlike our last preliminary task, "the chase" this idea of ours is seemingly more realistic which will hopefully build suspense in a more defined way for our target audience
  • Will you have any health/safety issues?:
No health/safety issues are involved, except for dancing, which is a very low safety issue
  • Locations and any necessary permission:
We need permission to use the dance studio at church/school.
  • Timing:
We plan to film next Wednesday night when the dance studio is empty and there wont be many people or bright lights disturbing the feel of our film.

  • Weather and back up options:
Our back up options would be to film at someones house such as mine or aim to film another day
  • equipment:
We will be using some lighting tools as well as a boom and our usual camera combined with an SD card to record our footage
